As we count down to the end of the year 2025 and look forward to the dawn of the new year, this 25th edition of The Switch newsletter reminds me of how far we have come, not just as an organisation, but as a collective of brilliant minds, resilient teams, and determined builders.

This time of the year often presents an opportunity to pause, look back and reflect. And so in this edition, we will pause and reflect on the stories that have shaped us: stories of bold beginnings, daring innovation, hard-won progress, and our shared commitment to transforming Africa’s digital landscape.

Our theme for this edition, “One Switch, Many Stories” underscores the essence of who we are. Though we operate as one enterprise, the impact we make is the sum of countless contributions, each unique, each meaningful, each essential. From pioneering new partnerships across the continent, to energising the next generation of developers and engineers, to driving financial inclusion and strengthening our digital ecosystem, every story in this issue reflects the vibrancy of the Interswitch movement.

Over the years, we’ve learnt that innovation does not occur in isolation. It emerges from the synergy between people, purpose and possibility. Whether through the passion of our teams, the trust of our partners, the enthusiasm of our communities, or the brilliance of our alumni, we continue to demonstrate that when great minds align around a shared vision, remarkable things happen.

Today, Interswitch stands not only as a technology company, but as a catalyst of growth, fuelling entrepreneurial ambition, enabling seamless transactions, powering essential services, and inspiring the next wave of African tech talent. And behind every solution, every product, every event, and every partnership lies a story worth telling.

To reinforce this, our stories have been especially inspiring this quarter.

In Uganda, we continued to demonstrate our commitment to financial inclusion through a transformative partnership with the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), enabling easier access to social security services and expanding coverage for millions. This collaboration not only accelerates NSSF’s digital agenda but also reinforces our mission to remove barriers and empower individuals and businesses across Africa.

In Lagos, our participation as Gold Sponsors of the Committee of e-Business Industry Heads (CeBIH) 2025 Annual Conference yet again, also underscored our longstanding dedication to shaping the conversations that matter, those around financial inclusion, consumer credit, and the future of payments. These platforms remind us that leadership is not only about building solutions but also about championing the dialogues that will unlock the next frontier of growth.

The story of our people remained a central theme as well. Through the Interswitch Coded Meetup, we deepened our investment in strengthening professionals and aspiring tech talent communities and inspiring excellence among the Good People of The Switch. Similarly, our bold and pioneering approach to alumni engagement continued to set new standards, creating a vibrant cross-border network of former employees who remain part of our story no matter where they are in the world.

Our ecosystem touchpoints extended further with TechConnect 5.0, where we convened partners, regulators, customers, and innovators to drive collaboration, compliance, and scalable growth across Nigeria’s digital economy.

And of course, our culture of connection and celebration came alive once again at VerveLife 8.0, where fitness enthusiasts, creators, partners, and consumers were treated to electrifying energy, big wins, and memorable moments. Events like these remind us that technology is ultimately about people, their passions, lifestyles and aspirations.

Each of these highlights represents a different thread, woven into one strong fabric, One Switch, many stories, each one reflecting what happens when visionary thinking meets unwavering execution.
