Interswitch eClat and Ogun State Government Partner to Transform Healthcare Delivery.

Interswitch eClat Healthcare Limited, a subsidiary of Interswitch Group, has joined forces with the Ogun State government to revolutionize healthcare delivery in the state. The partnership, which marks a significant milestone in the pursuit of improved quality and accessibility of healthcare services, will see eClat’s state-of-the-art service; e-Clinic, launched and commissioned at the Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH) on Tuesday, May 23, 2023.

The integration of e-Clinic will see OOUTH utilize Interswitch eClat's cutting-edge technology platform to streamline and digitize various aspects of patient care.

The e-Clinic is an innovative, patient-focused healthcare solution that replaces traditional, analogue record-keeping systems with a secure and easily accessible digital process. This transformative approach ensures that patient data is readily available to healthcare professionals, enabling swift analysis and enhancing the efficiency of medical practitioners across the country.

This ground-breaking innovation will introduce features such as inventory and stock management, patient appointment and queue management, medical and insurance billing, asset management, integration with third-party systems via APIs, quick messaging and notifications, medical coding, backup support, and multi-location capabilities.

Speaking about the partnership, Dr. Wallace Ogufere, Chief Executive Officer of Interswitch eClat, expressed enthusiasm, stating, "We are excited to collaborate with the Ogun State Government to launch the first e-Clinic in the state. This initiative aligns with our vision of utilizing technology to drive positive change in society and our commitment to revolutionizing healthcare delivery across Africa through the power of technology. The e-Clinic will redefine healthcare delivery in Ogun State, empower healthcare professionals with advanced tools, and ensure that Ogun state citizens can access better quality medical services."

On the importance of the partnership, Dr. Tomi Coker, Commissioner for Health, Ogun State affirmed the commitment of the state to developing and enhancing healthcare services. “Through this collaboration, we are determined to modernize healthcare delivery, ensuring that our residents have access to efficient, reliable, and patient-centric healthcare services”, she added.

In her comments, Dr. (Mrs.) O.M Fatungase, Chief Medical Director of OOUTH said “This marks an exciting milestone for our hospital as we embark on a transformative journey towards delivering exceptional healthcare experiences. Together with Interswitch eClat, we aim to seamlessly integrate digital solutions that will enhance access, efficiency, and quality of care.”

This partnership between Interswitch eClat and the Ogun State government represents a significant stride toward a future where technology and healthcare converge, providing efficient, accessible, and patient-centered care for all. Adopting this digital transformation will address critical challenges in healthcare delivery, such as long waiting times, limited access to specialized care, and inefficient information management.

The e-Clinic will enhance overall operational efficiency in healthcare, reduce administrative burdens, and enable medical professionals to focus more on delivering high-quality care.

Interswitch eClat Healthcare Limited remains committed to transforming the healthcare landscape, improving access to quality medical services, and enhancing patient care.
