From Light Academy Boys Nairobi to STEM Royalty: Kiarie Muranga Emerges as InterswitchSPAK 4.0 Winner!

Following the momentous grand finale of the nationwide competition, Kiarie Muranga, a student of Light Academy Boys, Nairobi, has emerged winner of the InterswitchSPAK Kenya National Science Competition, securing the coveted title of Kenya's STEM champion.

The intense Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) competition, which attracted over 2,200 registrations from across Kenya, culminated in a triumphant victory for Muranga who competed successfully in all stages of the competition to finals.

As the newly crowned STEM champion of Kenya, Kiarie will receive a five-year university scholarship worth KES 1.5 million and a brand-new laptop. This comprehensive scholarship includes a monthly stipend, further supporting his academic journey and fostering a culture of excellence in STEM education.

Securing the second and third positions in the Interswitch SPAK National Science Competition are Emmanuel Mwaura of Kagumo High School in Nyeri County and Emmanuel Otieno of Agoro Sare High School in Homa Bay County. These accomplished individuals have also been awarded scholarships amounting to Ksh 750,000 and Ksh 150,000 respectively, in addition to brand new laptops and other exciting gifts.

Now in its fourth year in Kenya, the competition has successfully reached over 7,000 students in the country, highlighting the importance of STEM education, and rewarding excellence in this field of study.
