Country General Manager - Kenya
Romana is the country General manager at Interswitch EA Kenya Ltd where she leads the Interswitch business in Kenya. She is a seasoned market leader in the payment industry not only in Kenya but across different African Markets.
Romana has over 30 years’ experience in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating business relationships, and spearheading effective market penetration strategies in the financial technology world. She has developed and implemented projects in various industries including banking and insurance within East and Southern Africa.
She setup the PMO office for Kenya; managed operations, business development and sales; led a strategic Mobile Payment project, various Third-Party Processing integrations; PCI DSS and EMV Issuing Migration projects for Interswitch Kenya. Before Interswitch, she worked with the Group Technology team at Standard Chartered Bank for over 10 years, leading IT Disaster Recovery; IT Service Management and Service Delivery for Kenya Centralization. She was pivotal to the success of IT projects across 12 countries in Africa and various retail banking projects.
She also led the development of Insurance Management Systems for Amarco Kenya Ltd and developed and maintained numerous systems at Data Centre, the first computer bureau in East Africa. Romana is a value driven leader who enjoys supporting business growth across Africa.
Regional Head, Human Capital, and Administration - Human Resources
Stella is a seasoned international HR Executive with more than 19 years’ experience in various countries across Africa and the Middle East, 15 of which have been in the telecommunications and Financial technology industry. She is a Certified Talent Practitioner (CTP) and Coach, voted as one of the best HR professionals in Africa, 2017.
With a specialization in HR at Master’s level, she has vast Pan-African experience in organizational development, leadership development, employee engagement, culture and change management, talent, and performance management, among others. She is a mentor and a coach to various professionals across Africa and is skilled in strategy development and alignment, outsourcing, mergers & acquisitions.
Regional Head, Finance and Supply Chain
Eric is the Regional Head of Finance and Supply Chain at Interswitch East Africa. Prior to taking on this role, Eric worked for PwC Nigeria where he had oversight of the Business Recovery Services practice of PwC Nigeria. Eric also supported the forensic practice and led some high-profile forensic engagements.
Prior to working for PwC in Nigeria, Eric was a Manager in the Financial Advisory Services division of Deloitte in the Cayman Islands, offering forensic and dispute services, reorganization services and corporate finance services to financial services companies including hedge funds, banks, insurance companies and trust funds.
Eric also worked in the Corporate Finance and Recovery division of PwC Kenya where he was involved in various insolvency mandates that involved both offering restructuring and turnaround advice as well as day to day oversight over the operations of client companies. In addition, Eric offered interim management services and was seconded for a year as the Financial Controller of a privatized railway company in East Africa.
Eric is a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPA) and holder of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation. He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi.
Head, Sales Network, and Marketing
Daniel is an experienced Sales and Business Development Professional whose career spans over 13 years of experience in Telecommunication, Banking and Fintech. As an all-round business oriented individual, Daniel has a deep wealth of experience in Business Development, B2B & B2C Sales , Products Incubation & Development around Agency Banking, Card Business, Mobile Banking, Retail Sales & Management and Customer Experience Management. Daniel has worked in different roles in companies like Safaricom, Cellulant, Craft Silicon and Chase Bank. Daniel is very passionate about Customer Satisfaction and he is committed to ensuring clients derive full value from the products they consume by forging mutually beneficial partnerships with customers.
Head, Technology
Naomi is a seasoned technology expert with strong technology capabilities garnered over 11 years of core experience in the payment industry. Naomi has vast expertise in IT infrastructure, Software and application development in Fintech, and Consulting and software development sectors.
Naomi joined Interswitch as a Switch engineer as the lead implementation engineer in a major system migration. Beyond leading the implementation in major projects, she has also consistently assisted the team in project implementations for both local and international projects, growing through the ranks to her current position.
Although her career started as a Customer Service Representative, Naomi was curious to learn from her peers and go the extra mile to resolve various customer issues, her interest drove her to join the technical team where her passion found full expression and her impact evident.
Naomi holds a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Jomo Kenyatta University of Science and Agriculture.
Head, Business Development
Anthony is an experienced business development manager with a strong history of driving dynamic product and service sales, managing partner relationships, and substantially increasing revenues. He has over 15 years’ experience in identifying new business opportunities, cultivating C-level relationships, and spearheading effective sales and market penetration strategies.
Formerly head of Tokens and Channel Devices at Interswitch Kenya, Anthony excelled at skillfully managing ATM maintenance programs, projects, and technical services to sustain revenue growth. He implemented strategic value-added services and solutions in alignment with corporate objectives to open new lines of business, propel overall business success not only in Kenya but in other East African Markets. He holds an MSC in Procurement, Logistics, Materials and Supply Chain from JKUAT University.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with Information Technology from Maseno University and MSC Data Analytics from Kenya college of Accountancy as well as other professional certifications. Anthony has proven talents in team leadership and operational management.
Head, Business Value Realization (BVR)
Terry has expansive knowledge in Project Management, Service Delivery, Process and Change Management, Process Re-engineering and Implementation. She is currently in charge of BVR (Business Value Realization), overseeing Project Delivery, Customer Experience, Service Delivery, Schemes Management, and Tokens Channels Support.
Prior to this appointment, Terry served as the Head, Project Management Office (PMO) at Interswitch Kenya where she oversaw the unit set up, developed the project management framework and oversaw projects implementation. With over 10+ years’ experience in managing projects, she has overseen implementations of Payments schemes projects for Banks and Saccos, payments automation products for financial institutions, government automation projects, e-banking, e-commerce, technology products and internal organizational change projects.
Terry is a member of the Project Management Institute(PMI) – Kenya chapter and holds a master’s in project planning and Management from the University of Nairobi. She is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) from the Project Management Institute (PMI). She is also an alumnus of the African Management Institute in Leadership.
She has a passion for change management, business process reengineering and transformation agendas in organizations with a focus on team leadership and improving business processes efficiencies.
Country DPO, Risk Management and Control
Migwi joined Interswitch EA Kenya in November 2019 and was assigned the duty of setting up a functional Risk Management and Control Department. In January 2020, he was appointed as Interswitch Kenya Data Protection Officer. He previously worked in the Investment Banking sector serving under different roles in Risk Management and Compliance. He brings on-board skills covering Business Process improvement/re-engineering, Corporate Governance, financial data analysis, Risk analysis and Regulatory Compliance.
He holds a double major degree in Finance and Management Science from Strathmore University, as well as other professional certifications in Accounting, Data Protection, Fraud & Risk Management and Investments & Securities. He is an associate member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals. Migwi believes that leaders don’t create followers, they create leaders.
Head, Legal & Compliance
Keziah Rutto is an accomplished legal professional who has established herself as a specialist in the fintech and financial services industries. With her extensive expertise in legal and regulatory matters, corporate governance, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management, Keziah is an asset in driving customer-centric value propositions.

Keziah is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Member of the Law Society of Kenya and holds a Bachelor of Laws Degree from Catholic University of Eastern Africa University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She also holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from the United States International University- Africa, and is a Certified Secretary and a member of the Institute of Certified Secretaries of Kenya. She also holds a certificate in Senior Management Development under the Executive Leadership Program from Strathmore University.

Chief Financial Officer
Geoffrey Njuguna is the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Interswitch East Africa (Kenya ) Limited. Mr Njuguna holds a Master’s Degree in Economics and policy from the University Of Nairobi, and a bachelor's Degree in Economics and Finance with First Class Honors. He is also a Certified Public Accountant of Kenya (CPAK). He is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). His senior leadership experience spans over 10 years, having worked as Head of Financial Planning and Analysis at Interswitch Group in Lagos as well as Interswitch East Africa (Kenya) Limited.
Geoffrey has a proven track record of enhancing business digitization, building adapted teams, and improving performance and business turnaround. Being a technology enthusiast, He is a Certified Technology Specialist as well as a Certified Technology Professional. He has led various enterprise resource planning projects in various industries such as Fintech, Manufacturing, NGOs and banking.
